ORBIS TRADE AWAY DARKNESS

A staggering 40 million people are blind worldwide, 90% of who are from developing countries. Orbis HK, a non-profit charity is dedicated to saving sight and ending avoidable blindness worldwide.

In anticipation of World Sight Day on October 10th, we launched a simple donating platform to help raise much-needed funds.
The microsite encouraged people to "Trade Away Darkness". We directed them through to our facebook app, where we asked the public to donate any item of Black that they no longer wanted.

Once uploaded, the public could search a bid on any of the donated items. If you didn't want to bid or couldn't find the item you liked, you could still donate by buying a "Darkness To Go" badge.

We also released a range of posters that created awareness of the dangers of being blind. While word of mouth and social shares helped drive people to the website.
